Connect Facebook Marketing to Infograph
What it brings in: campaigns, ad sets, ads, ads insights, ads insights platform and 4 more.
What you need
- A Facebook account with access to at least one Meta ad account.
- Your own role on each ad account you want to sync, either directly or through the business portfolio that owns it.
Steps
Start in Infograph
Open Facebook Marketing in Infograph. Meta's sign-in opens in a new window. If you came from a link, press Continue to Facebook Marketing first.
Sign in to Facebook and allow access
Sign in with the Facebook account you use for Meta Ads Manager. Infograph asks to read your ads and their performance; it cannot create or change ads. If Meta asks which businesses or ad accounts to share, choose every one you want to sync.
Choose your ad accounts and data
Back in Infograph, every ad account your Facebook account can read is listed, each with its campaigns, ad sets, ads, creatives and daily insights. Pick what you want and Infograph starts loading it. Recent insights are fetched again on each sync, because Meta keeps updating conversions for up to 28 days.
What it syncs
Each becomes a table in Infolake that you can chart, report on or ask about. You choose which to sync.
- Campaigns
campaigns The campaigns in the ad account, with their objective, status, daily or lifetime budget and start and stop times. The list every results table ties back to.
Ask: “Which active campaigns have the biggest daily budgets?”
- Ad sets
ad_sets The ad sets, with their campaign, status, what each is optimised for, how it is billed and its budget. Shows how each campaign's spend is split up.
Ask: “Which optimisation goals are our ad sets using, and in which campaigns?”
- Ads
ads The ads, with their status, ad set, campaign, creative and when each was created and last changed. Links results to the creative that ran.
Ask: “How many ads are live in each campaign right now?”
- Ad results by day
ads_insights One row per ad per day, with spend, impressions, reach, frequency, clicks, CTR, CPC, CPM, conversions, purchase value and ROAS, video views and Meta's quality rankings. The base for spend and return dashboards.
Ask: “What was our cost per purchase by campaign each week last month?”
- Ad results by platform and placement
ads_insights_platform The same daily ad results split by platform (such as Facebook or Instagram), placement and device. Shows where your budget works hardest.
Ask: “Do Instagram placements convert more cheaply than Facebook ones?”
Show all 9 tables
- Ad results by age and gender
ads_insights_demographics The same daily ad results split by age group and gender. Shows who your ads reach and who acts on them.
Ask: “Which age group has the lowest cost per conversion?”
- Ad account
ad_account The ad account itself, one row, with its name, currency, time zone, status, spend cap and total amount spent. Gives every other table its currency and context.
Ask: “How close is our ad account to its spend cap?”
- Ad creatives
ad_creatives The creatives in the account, with their name, headline, body text, call to action, image and thumbnail. Lets you compare results by message and visual.
Ask: “Which call to action appears on our best performing ads?”
- Custom conversions
custom_conversions The custom conversions set up in the account, with their name, event type, rule and pixel. Explains the custom conversion names in the results tables.
Ask: “Which custom conversions do we track, and which pixel records each one?”
Troubleshooting
Each entry is the message Infograph shows when a connection fails. Open it for the fix.
Your browser blocked the sign-in window. Allow pop-ups for this site, then try again.
Infograph opens the sign-in in a small window, and your browser stopped it. Allow pop-ups for app.infograph.ai from the icon in the address bar or in your browser's site settings, then press Connect again. An ad blocker or privacy extension can block the window too: pause it for app.infograph.ai and try again.
Access was not allowed, so nothing was connected. Connect again and choose Allow.
The sign-in was answered with Cancel or Deny, so nothing was connected and Infograph holds no access. Press Connect again and choose Allow. Infograph uses the access only to read and sync your data.
Your account cannot read this data. Ask an admin of the account for access, then connect again.
Meta refused to share this data with your Facebook account, usually because your role on the ad account does not let you see its performance. Ask an admin of the ad account, or of the business portfolio that owns it, to assign you to the ad account in Business settings. Then connect again.
Infograph's access was removed or has expired. Re-authenticate to resume syncing.
Meta's sign-in expires after about 60 days, and Meta offers no way to renew it in the background. It also ends if someone removes Infograph under Settings & privacy, Settings, Business integrations on Facebook, or your role on the ad account is removed. Press Re-authenticate in Infograph and sign in again. Your synced data stays in Infograph.
Common problems
These happen in Facebook Marketing itself, where Infograph cannot see them.
An ad account is missing from the list
Infograph lists only the ad accounts your Facebook account has a role on. An account owned by a business portfolio you were never assigned to will not appear, even if you can see the business. Ask its admin to assign you to the ad account, then connect again. If Meta asked you to choose businesses or ad accounts while signing in, you may also have left it out: connect again and select it.
You signed in with the wrong Facebook account
The sign-in uses whichever Facebook account is open in your browser. If the ad accounts you expected are missing, log out of Facebook, connect again and sign in with the account that has access in Meta Ads Manager.
Breakdowns by device are empty
Meta now asks some ad accounts to opt in to device breakdowns in Ads Manager. Until the account opts in, the platform breakdown can come back without rows while the other data syncs normally.
