Connect Typeform to Infograph
What it brings in: workspaces, forms, responses, form fields, form workspaces.
What you need
- A Typeform account with the forms you want to analyse.
- Which data center holds your responses. Almost every account is in the United States; EU data residency is an Enterprise option.
Steps
Open Personal tokens in Typeform
In Typeform, click your profile at the top right, then Your settings, and open Personal tokens.
Generate a token
Click Generate a new token and name it Infograph. Give it read access to Accounts, Workspaces, Forms and Responses, and nothing else. Generate it and copy it. Typeform shows it only once.
Paste it in Infograph and choose your tables
Open Typeform in Infograph, leave Region on United States unless your account stores responses in the EU, paste the token into Personal access token and press Connect. Pick the tables you want and Infograph starts loading them, every response included.
What it syncs
Each becomes a table in Infolake that you can chart, report on or ask about. You choose which to sync.
- Workspaces
workspaces The workspaces in your account, with their names and how many forms each holds.
Ask: “How many forms are in each workspace?”
- Forms
forms Every form, with its title, when it was created and last changed, and its link.
Ask: “Which forms have we changed in the last month?”
- Responses
responses Every completed response, with when it was submitted, each answer, hidden fields, the score when the form calculates one, and the device it came from. Answers name the question they answer.
Ask: “What is our average NPS score by month this year?”
- Questions
form_fields Every question on every form, with its type, title and choices. Turns the question ids in each answer into the questions people saw.
Ask: “Which questions on our feedback form get skipped the most?”
- Forms by workspace
form_workspaces Each form with the workspace it sits in, so forms and responses can be grouped by team.
Ask: “How many responses did each workspace's forms get last month?”
Troubleshooting
Each entry is the message Infograph shows when a connection fails. Open it for the fix.
Those credentials were not accepted.
Typeform did not accept the token. Check you copied all of it, and that Region is right: a token from an EU account works only with its EU region, and a United States token only with United States. A token deleted under Personal tokens stops working too: generate a new one, open the connection in Infograph, choose Edit configuration and paste it.
Common problems
These happen in Typeform itself, where Infograph cannot see them.
Responses is empty
Responses holds completed submissions only. If a form has none yet, or the token has no read access to Responses, the table is empty. Edit the token's scopes in Typeform, or generate one with Responses read.
A new response is not there yet
Typeform can list a submission a few minutes after it is made, so each sync also reads the last half hour again. A response from just now appears on the next sync.
