Connect Notion to Infograph

What it brings in: databases, pages, users.

What you need

  • A Notion workspace you are a member of.
  • The pages and databases you want to analyse. You choose them in Notion while you connect, and Infograph only sees those.
  • On an Enterprise plan, a workspace owner may need to allow Infograph first.

Steps

  1. Open Notion in Infograph

Open Notion in Infograph and press Continue to Notion. A Notion sign-in window opens.

    Continue to Notion
  2. Sign in and pick the workspace

Sign in to Notion. If you belong to several workspaces, check the workspace name at the top right and switch to the right one. A connection reads one workspace.

  3. Select the pages to share

Press Select pages and tick the pages and databases Infograph may read. Sharing a page also shares the pages and databases inside it, so a top-level page is often the simplest choice. Press Allow access.

  4. Choose what to sync

Each shared database becomes its own table, with one column per property. Pages brings every shared page with its text, and Users lists the workspace's members, so you can see who wrote what. Pick what you want and Infograph starts loading it.

Or connect with an API token

  1. Create an internal connection

A workspace owner opens notion.so/profile/integrations, clicks New integration, names it Infograph, picks the workspace and keeps the type Internal. Under Capabilities, Read content is all Infograph needs.

  2. Copy its secret

On the connection's Configuration tab, show and copy the Internal Integration Secret. It starts ntn_.

  3. Share pages with it

In Notion, open each page or database Infograph should read, click ••• at the top right, choose Connections, then Add connections, and pick Infograph. Sharing a page also shares what is inside it.

  4. Paste it in Infograph

Open Notion in Infograph, choose Use an API token instead, paste the secret into API token and press Connect. Pick what you want and Infograph starts loading it. Users is not offered on a token connection, which Notion does not allow to list members.

What it syncs

Each becomes a table in Infolake that you can chart, report on or ask about. You choose which to sync.

Databasesdatabases

Each database you share becomes its own table, one row per entry, with its properties (status, dates, people, tags, numbers) as columns. Turns a Notion tracker into something you can chart.

Ask: “How many tasks in our project tracker are in each status?”

Pagespages

Every page you share, database entries included, with its title, who created and last edited it, when, and the page's text and word count. Lets the AI read and summarise your docs.

Ask: “Which pages in our wiki have not been edited in the last six months?”

Usersusers

The members and bots in your workspace, with name, type and email. Turns the IDs on pages into names. Guests are not included.

Ask: “Who edited the most pages last month?”

Troubleshooting

Each entry is the message Infograph shows when a connection fails. Open it for the fix.

Those credentials were not accepted.

Notion did not accept the token. Check you copied the whole Internal Integration Secret, from ntn_ to the end. A secret that was refreshed, or a connection that was deleted, stops working: copy the current secret from the connection's Configuration tab, open the connection in Infograph, choose Edit configuration and paste it.

Access was not allowed, so nothing was connected. Connect again and choose Allow.

The sign-in was answered with Cancel or Deny, so nothing was connected and Infograph holds no access. Press Connect again and choose Allow. Infograph uses the access only to read and sync your data.

Your account cannot read this data. Ask an admin of the account for access, then connect again.

Notion refused a request for content this connection should read. Open the page in Notion, click ••• at the top right and check Infograph is still listed under Connections. If it is not, add it back with Add connections. On an Enterprise plan, a workspace owner may have limited which connections members can use, so ask them to allow Infograph.

Infograph's access was removed or has expired. Re-authenticate to resume syncing.

Infograph's connection to your workspace was removed. Someone may have disconnected it in Notion under Settings, Connections, or removed it from the pages it used. Press Re-authenticate, sign in and select the pages again. If syncs keep failing after that, check Infograph is still listed under Connections on the pages you want.

Common problems

These happen in Notion itself, where Infograph cannot see them.

A page or database is missing

Infograph only sees what was shared with it. Open the page in Notion, click ••• at the top right and choose Add connections under Connections, then pick Infograph. New pages appear in Pages on the next sync. For a new database, open the connection in Infograph and press Re-discover streams.

A linked database does not appear

Notion does not let connections read a linked database, the view of a database placed on another page. Share the original database instead.

You signed in to the wrong workspace

Connections in Notion belong to one workspace. Connect Notion again, and switch workspace from the name at the top right of the sign-in window before you select pages.
